USA Press Feast on Mitt Romney UK Olympics Gaffe
Mitt Romney in UK July 2012 days before the opening of the 2012 London Olympics. He came, he saw and then he opened his mouth and five seconds later he was toast as he showed about as much knowledge as Sarah Palin on a good day which as millions know is ZILCH!
Mitt Romney his opening gambit in UK – quote – “There are a few things that were disconcerting, the stories about the private security firm not having enough people, supposed strike of the immigration and customs officials, that obviously is not something which is encouraging. Because there are three parts that makes Games successful. ” - more – “Number one, of course, are the athletes. That’s what overwhelmingly the Games are about. Number two are the volunteers. And they’ll have great volunteers here. But number three are the people of the country. Do they come together and celebrate the Olympic moment? And that’s something which we only find out once the Games actually begin.”
The London mayor, Boris Johnson, nailed Mitt Romney with a stellar rebuke – quote - “The Geiger counter of Olympo-mania is going to go zoink! off the scale! People are coming from around the world, and they’re seeing us, and they’re seeing the greatest country on Earth, aren’t they? There are some people who are coming from around the world who don’t yet know about all the preparations we’ve done to get London ready in the last seven years. I hear there’s a guy called Mitt Romney who wants to know whether we’re ready. Are we ready? “
