Bradley Wiggins set to win 2012 Paris-Nice Spring Classic

March 11th, 2012 No comments

Today sees the final stage of one of professional cycling’s great stage race often referred to as the ‘Race to the Sun’ as the bikers ride south for six days from the cold in Paris to meet the sun in the fabulous playground of Nice in the first spring calendar classic of the racing season.

But today is the last stage and it is very special as Team Sky British superstar Bradley Wiggins ia leading by six seconds overall and is favorite to win. His main challenger 6 seconds adrift is Lieuwe Westra from the Nederlands riding for Vacansoleil-DCM. The last stage is a time trial which Wiggins usually excels in but the stage is difficult as it mainly uphill and all riders have to conquer the slopes of Col d’Eze nine kilometers plus of torture but the Team Sky leader is up for it and had this to say – quote – “There’s no point me sitting on the start line going: ‘I wonder how Lieuwe Westra is today? I wonder if he’s got the legs?’” – more – “It’s every man for himself – you can’t hide on Col d’Èze. ” – more – “My biggest adversary will be myself, how I prepare and how I get in the zone. Other than that, I’m not thinking about anything else.”

Team Sky have been in great form last season and at the start of this season and there will be huge disappointment in the team if they do not pull off victory in Nice. But team morale is high and the management team are very experienced with dome of the best motivators in the business. Hence we forecast Team Sky to win Paris-Nice 2012.

If Bradley Wiggins can win the 2012 Paris-Nice Spring Classic then he will become the first British rider to win the ‘Race to the Sun’ since the late great Tom Simpson in 1967

50 Years of The Rolling Stones 1962 – 2012

As the line goes in one of the first songs recorded way back by the legendary Rolling Stones they are still around and on top of their game and sure to ‘Not Fade Away’ The band is still on the go and iconic frontman Mick Jagger is up for a lot more of the same. For the billions of folks who have followed rock music for decades the Stones may not have had hit records for a long time – but that is not really what they are all about. The Rolling Stones are best judged on live performances and only U2 and Bruce Springsteen can come anywhere near to the sizzle that Mick – Keith Richards – Ronnie Wood – Charlie Watts generate when they play live! When the Stones go on tour they make money like it is going out of fashion – with each tour pulling in hundreds of millions of pounds in revenue!

One way to get a look and feel about the guys from what is one of the greatest ever rock and roll bands in the world is to see photos and images taken through the history of the band.

Here is what the band members had to say about The Rolling Stones: 50 compiled by The Mirror Group – quote – “This is our story of 50 fantastic years,” – more – “We started out as a blues band playing the clubs and more recently we’ve filled the largest stadiums in the world with the kind of show that none of us could have imagined all those years ago. – more -“Curated by us, it features the very best photographs and ephemera from and beyond our archives.” – referral attribution Mirror.Co.Uk

Where to get the The Rolling Stones: 50 – Across 352 pages, The Rolling Stones: 50 features 700 Illustrations, 300 of which are in colour. – more -The book is published by Thames & Hudson and will be available from all bookshops on July 12, for £29.95 – attribution Mirror.Co.Uk

Is the Drop a Certainty for EPL Side Wolves

March 10th, 2012 No comments

As of March, 10, 2012 – Five clubs have become detached from the rest in the EPL – English Premier League table they are Wigan Athletic – Blackburn Rovers – QPR aka Queens Park Rangers – Bolton Wanderers – and finally Wolverhampton Wanderers aka Wolves quite frankly there is not much to chose between these teams as they all on form, do not have the quality and the grit needed to climb up the table.

Let us look briefly at QPR managed by the hapless Mark Hughes with only 22 points they are poor when playing their best. Then we have Blackburn Rovers also on 22 points with little form and a manager Steve Kean who quite frankly does not look up to the task of keeping the Rovers up. Next also on 22 points are the Birmingham side Wolves who recently showed the door to Mick McCarthy and upgraded Terry Connor into the hot seat – but they look clueless and seem set to drop out the EPL – English Premier League come May this year when all the talking will be over as they get relegated down to the Championship League. Next in the shakedown are Bolton 20 points who are arguably the best of all these five teams but for some unknown reason they are not firing off this season. Then at the very bottom also on 20 points we have Wigan Athletic who are shall we say struggling period.

Is it down to these 5 teams oh yes for sure as the gap between QPR and next team above in the table Aston Villa is eight points yes a massive 8 points as Villa already look safe as they have notched 30 points and they have 11 games to play to reach the mystical 40 points that usually ensures EPL football for one more season. But the reality is that if any of the present bottom five get 35 points come May I will be surprised!

So to drop out the EPL it has to be Wolverhampton Wanderers aka Wolves – plus any two from four – Take Your Pick!

MILF AA Cup Danielle Lloyd in Real Life Drama

MILF not for me thank you! But each to their own but the mentally challenged serial WAG Danielle Lloyd is in the news again. But wait why did we say – serial WAG – Oh I see that is because she worked her way through a host of footballers when she was a freelance WAG until she came down to rest with Jamie O’Hara. Rumor has it that she has had more footie sausage than they sell at Tesco’s in a year. Wow Tesco’s must be busy then!

But then again we are not here to disparage the girl so one more time they are only rumors about the footie sausage. So let’s move on and talk about Jermain Defoe – Teddy Sheringham – Marcus Bent – Armand Traoré – DJ Ironik – so what have these guys got to do with the story – did they all want to work on the counter at Tesco’s selling sausage! Oh silly me let’s try one more time they have all dated WAG Danielle Lloyd and they all shop at Tesco! So there must be some connection somewhere – now let us think what that could be – err – umm – phew I know – SAUSAGE!

Anyway this article is stupid let’s move on to why this pale as in Palethorpes ex model is in the news again – OK we have it now she went to hospital the other day arriving as an EE Cup or some similar enhanced sized cup and left as an AA Cup! Dang if that is news it is time to sign off. But hey before we go let’s get some sausage for her to eat as she needs to put on weight!
