2nd Official Mod Vote - Nominations

With the growth of Ozami and other reasons I have decided it is time we add another moderator to our team.

I would like suggestions for anyone on the board that you think would be suitable / a good addition to our team.

You can either make you suggestion public or PM me or Marcus (please don't bother Netcom or Barclone with this) with your suggestion. You can ask to be Mod yourself its not a problem if your commited to the job.

Once all the nominations are in I'll discuss it with the mod team and run a public vote if it is close.

About being a Mod

Firstly theres no payment for being a modertor here on Ozami. We reward people who participate a lot with the the opportunity of helping out. You have no obligation to accept the position and if your not going to be committed to the job please don't take it on.

Some times you will feel that it's no difference to being a user, other times you will look closer at the board and help with ideas / etc, for where Ozami is going to go.

It doesn't matter if you have 2 posts or 2000 posts, what matters is your attitude towards Ozami. At the end of the day everyone here at Ozami will probably decide, not me personally.

I second it! While I am honored and touched by your nomination, I must respectfully decline at this time. :(
I am negotiating a consulting gig that will demand a great deal of my time and attention. Combined with the fact that my current project is about to move in to training mode, my time here on Ozami will be limited, at best, through March or April of next year. I would hope that you would consider me again in the future, should another opportunity arise. :D

That being said, I think we have a very strong candidate pool. I believe, however, that each of you should take the time to talk to Max (to learn from his experience), learn more about what is required, and be sure you are ready to commit.

Melkior, I know that you are the newbie of the group but I believe you to be a great addition here. Are you committed to the long haul?

El Pirata, You rock dude. Is your recent work activity impacting your availability to the point that you might not be able to fulfil your commitment?

I believe each and everyone of you would do a great job. I just want you to think about this very seriously. I would support any one of you 100% as a moderator (as opposed to the 75% that Max gets - :D ) The big question that I have is; Who is going to clean up all the thread titles that say things like "ep 4 mod" after the selection is made? It's like "blogg - grafiti" all over the place..... :P

i admit i can be very scary weird and strange
but never in my life have i abused the powers that come with a position
i do not want to become a Moderator here at Ozami simply because i think it might be cool
i see this as a big learning experience and also because i think i have something to offer

TYVM I didn't mean to offend, Tea...you know I luv's the naughty nurse! I was just playing devils advocate to elicit responses. You did a fine job with your response.

As I said in my prior post, I believe you would do a fine job and I would/will support you 100%. (but max still only gets 75% :P )

But you did make a good point - - there are several regulars here who make great posts, who make great suggestions on how to make Ozami better - and are all around great people. Being a Mod here at Ozami is not difficult because you all make it so damn easy. We don't have any flaming, we have good discourse, and everybody gets along. Very rarely do I have to move a thread to the moderator's board or delete a post. We all seem to gravitate away from talking about Politics and/or Religion and we all seem to respect other people's thoughts and feelings. It does help that we all share the same warped sense of humor, for the most part, and seem to cater to each other whether in subject matter or picture threads. Basically I am saying that you are all a great bunch of folks. Except for Stalker. (75%?? Damn, man.)

That being said, this Moderator selection (via popular vote) is going to be a difficult one because you all would make great moderators. I can only hope that there will be no hard feelings and/or bruised egos when the selection is made. (I don’t think there will be, but I would hate to loose someone from our group because of it)

I did think about what marcus said and whilst we have 3 solid nominations I am confident (and I have heard it said) by each and every one of them that if they don't get it, then there will be no hard feelings between them.

I think everyone is grown up enough to know at the end of the day its a bit of fun, especially the way we are doing it with the vote.

It isn't supposed to turn into a war lol and if I thought it would i'd just have chosen someone myself.

As for cleaning the campaiging up - Indeed the new moerator can have that priviledge - it's all good at the moment though ;)

Stalker - Whilst I understand you declining the invitation to be the newest Mod - I do hope that while you are gone, or nearly gone for the next few months, you turn over access to you mega collection of hot chick pics and more! That way, they can still be shared when you are not available.

I think everyone understands this, or at least they should. In the end, Ozami is a place where I come to for some fun. And everybody does. It's really not about posting pics but about the company.
We all had our little fun, adding "vote for me" signs on our threads and me with my avatar.

First of all, thanks for appreciating my additions. As for the other part...
I first came to Ozami cause my friend recommended it. He never posted so mentioning his nickname doesn't do any difference.
I belive I registered on the 29th of August this year. But I didn't make any posts until the 5th of October. I was lurking around for some time just to get the feel of things.
And than all hell broke loose! This will be my 1480th post. I became "Ozamified".
I'm here every day. I add some pics, I have fun.
What I'm trying to say is that I really like Ozami and I think I could make a good mod cause I'm here almost all the time and doing some extra things wouldn't be a problem.
On the other hand I understand that I have almost no chance of becoming a mod cause my "opponents" are here for a much longer time. And it doesn't matter! I won't stop liking this place!
Anyway, I love you all guys and girls! (Yeah Tea, even you!) :D
And I wish good luck to all of the candidates!

a) I don't remember how I was made into a moderator. As I recall, Jess rolled over, shook me awake and said "Hey, Baby - wanna do something for me?" and the rest is history. I initially thought she meant something else... :D

b) It's not called "Free Ballin'" it's called "Going Commando"

Been called free ballin, commando, etc for years. Just depends on your current placement and company. Most guys in the Army refer to it as free ballin. Since I am a lifer in the Army free ballin seems right to me.

Im not to say I seem like a constant poster, but I do have my homepage set to this website. I am all for anyone who is willing to be a moderator/admin, but if you need someone to do it for free I would be more than happy to step up and fulfill those duties. but it is up to jess so i hope my imput kindof helps. wee out.
