This was a TV series that ran in three seasons of six episodes between 1988 and 1993.

There's a couple of links to download all the episodes in 544x352 resolution, Xvid codec with MP3 audio. That will play on many DVD players with Divx support. Just put them all on one DVD-R.
They're also downloadable in formats suitable for iPhone and smaller screen portables. The largest resolution is the 640x480 streaming Quicktime version.
Some friends of mine have kids at just the right age to be interested in these, so I'm going to give them copies.
Now if only James Burke could arrange a similar freebie deal for his "Connections" series...
